A Magistrates Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has sentenced 30 young ladies to six weeks imprisonment for prostitution. The accused were tried and convicted for prostitution and breach of peace. The Magistrate, Mrs O. Odusanya sentenced all of them to six weeks in prison each.
The ashawo girls, during their arraignment on Monday pleaded guilty to the offence and blamed the devil for pushing them into prostitution. They were all arrested at Obalende area of Lagos at 2 a.m.
The female magistrate ruled: "You are hereby sentenced to six weeks imprisonment with an option of N10,000 fine each."READ MORE >>
