Two Federal Constituency Offices: Omo Oloore Is A Pacesetter By Akinwale Oluyinka JP

After clinching the APC ticket via a keenly contested primaries to contest the March 28 House of Representatives election to champion the cause of the good people of Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the green chamber; Adedapo Lam-Adesina moved from the first ward to the 24th ward in the two local governments, tirelessly toiling the four zones of the federal constituency, from one community to another; street to street: house to house campaign; associations, trade union, professional bodies, markets, students and religious bodies were all constructively and productively engaged in the "new era" style of progressive campaign championed by Omo Oloore.

The reality was made bare, the secret was let loose: in the last 16years in the political annals of the Federal Constituency, elected representatives have made themselves inaccessible, unapproachable and are been referred to as "Abuja politicians"; over time they lost touch with grassroot, they were totally disconnected with the people, nobody not even their party loyalists can trace them to their offices both in Abuja and Ibadan, to cap it all; they abandoned their legislative duties which is the threshold upon which they became Honourable.

Elections over, Tuesday 9th June 2015, the clerk of the House of Representatives recognized, called and invited with his roll-call register the 305th duly elected Honourable Member of the 8th assembly to take his oath of office, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina (Ibadan North East/ South East), the dotted lines signed, he shook hands with Speaker Yakubu Dogara and was allocated an office in the National assembly to execute his legislative functions.

The same administrative approach he brought back to Ibadan, today, for the 1st time in 16years, there are 2 federal constituency offices for the people of Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East Local governments. This is a way of cementing his relationship with his constituents.

This is a grassroot approach to bridge the gap between the representative and his people. This is an avenue to engage the electorates on issues of concern, community development and legislative consultations as part of the promises made by the new era prodigy during the campaign. This is a breathe of fresh air, it is unique and must be commended by all.

The first is located at Olatobi Gbadamosi house behind Ile Titun Central Mosque in Ward 10 of Ibadan South East LG while the office for Ibadan North East Local government is located beside Oke Offa Atipe bridge, Oje road,Ward 7 of Ibadan North East LG.

The 2 offices are to help constituents have access to federal government programs as it relates to the House of Representatives and specifically the legislative information on Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina. Omo Oloore will use these offices to meet with constituents, associations to fathom developments into communities for the collective interest of all.

The federal constituency offices will play a vital role in enabling the public to become active citizens and to take part in parliamentary activities.

As a youth, I am proud to be associated with the new era concept of Dapo Lam, a creative and vibrant ambassador of the youths; a worth representative of the people, the change agent, a lover of the masses, the initiator of developmental projects, Hon Adedapo Lam-Adesina. I pray you will excel in all your endeavours as you lift up our constituency from the state of backwardness to frontline progressivism.

Concluding,it must be noted that few weeks ago,Dapo Lam gave out free WAEC (GCE) forms to indigent students of the constituency under the Omo Oloore Educational Development Scheme. This is also first of its kind in the federal constituency.
