President Buhari Set To Make More Arrests, Okonjo Iweala Next

Sources conversant with the goings on within the Nigeria/USA diplomatic circles indicate that the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is certain to embark on more arrests of officials of the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The information indicates that a list had been prepared by the Buhari kitchen cabinet of the top officials to be arrested and investigated for mind-boggling corruption. The list was drafted prior to President Buhari trip to the United State of America.

Specifically, President Buhari is set to trigger a deluge of arrests of high profile officials.

The arrest is to come immediately following his return from US. The President had delayed the arrests in order to seek a concrete nod from President Obama over supposed “untouchables” contained in the list. Among the untouchables mentioned in the list include officials within the security ranks and officials within finance management and petroleum resources management.

A source indicates that the Obama administration had given President Buhari an earlier go ahead – prior to the current visit. The current leg of visit has netted a second go ahead nob to proceed with the arrests – while promising USA’s support – in providing the necessary resources to track the corrupt money trail.

“Obama folks promised they will not interfere” or stop the arrest of Nigeria’s ‘sacred cows’.

Thus the presidency has opted to embark on mass arrests – the kind never witnessed in Nigeria’s democratic experience before. With outside support, Buhari appears determined and resolved.

Unverified but credible information indicates that the former Minister of Defense in the person of Aliyu Gusau and the former Minister of Finance in the person of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala are next on the line of fire for the Buhari presidency.

“Oshiomole’s recent public attacks on madam Ngozi is not coincidence” said the source.

  1. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has done nothing to warrant arrest. If anything, she has invested her professional expertise to revamp the economy thereby making it more ‘investor-friendly’. Through several schemes like You-Win, GIS, and others, she empowered a lot of young entrepreneurs to start their businesses or take it to the next level. Please exercise caution because you never bite the fingers that feed you.

    1. Very funny!!!...You called You-Win & GIS a product of economic revival from an expertise. That's exactly the problem. Only intellectually weak minded individuals could assert such. I wonder how much investments or investors actually made it to a nation paved with insecurity, lies, negative economic signals, weak naira etc. Pls go and retake your secondary economics. perhaps it will help rebase your economical knowledge vis-a-vis Nigeria's economy

  6. Corruption is when you propagate lies against the innocent. Madam I weala is innocent and even the president knows that so he will not bother to waste his time on baseless allegations

  8. How worst can things get when you are always leaving what you are supposed to do and you start to look for innocent people in the name of fighting corruption. This country is in a mess. If there is anything good that has happened to this country, it is Okonjo-Iweala. No disrespect to anyone.

  9. My personal advise to President Buhari is for him to focus on his administration and not allow professional politicians push him to take decision that will work against him. This is what brought down those before him. He should shelve personal vendetta, and not let those close to him bring him down.

  10. Sponsors of Buhari should be arrested for using stolen money to bankroll his campaign
