Indications emerged Thursday that the parents of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, undergraduate, Miss Oluchi Anekwe, electrocuted on campus on Tuesday night, have threatened to drag the university and the power distribution company in the area to court.
It will be recalled that the deceased was on her way to the hostel when she was killed by a high tension cable which snapped and fell on her, killing her instantly.
This is as the University of Lagos Students Union,ULSU, declared today a Black Friday in honour of the deceased 300 level Accounting student.
A family source told Vanguard that parents of the deceased were determined to ensure both the university and the power company were charged for the negligence which resulted in the death of the deceased.
The declaration of Black Friday was reportedly sent to all class pages in the university, directing students to assemble at an open space, known as the Faculty of Business Administration quadrangle, clad in black.
