7-Year Old Boy Shot On Doorstep Writes Saddest Ever Letter To Santa Appealing For Gunmen To Be Caught

This note written with a red felt tip pen looks at first glance like it could be any normal wish list from a young boy to Santa. But the first request from seven-year-old Christian Hickey says he wants Father Christmas to “help the police catch the people who hurt me”.

The lad’s moving plea refers to the gangsters who shot him in the leg.

Christian and his mum Jayne, 30, were gunned down last month when they answered their front door. The boy – now recovering at home after extensive treatment in hospital – also asked Santa for goodies such as Match Attax cards, a remote control helicopter, and video games including Fifa 16, and Jurassic World.

Officers revealed the letter yesterday as they appealed again for assistance in the hunt for the two gun­men who struck in Salford.
